Connecting Bitbucket Cloud

Authorize your Bitbucket Cloud account and import repositories from its accessible workspaces.

A Bitbucket workspace owns repositories in Bitbucket. A Relane workspace holds your security connections, imported repositories, scans, and findings. Choose the Relane workspace where this work belongs, then authorize a Bitbucket account with access to the code you want scanned.

The connection identifies your Bitbucket account, not just one Bitbucket workspace. Its repository list can include repositories from multiple Bitbucket workspaces visible to that account. Check the workspace and repository name when choosing what to import.

Authorize your Bitbucket accountPermalink to Authorize your Bitbucket account

  1. Open the connection options

Go to Repositories and choose Connect repository if needed. Under Where your code lives, choose Connect beside Bitbucket, or Add another if you already have a connection.

  2. Sign in in the browser

Use the Bitbucket Cloud account with access to the intended Bitbucket workspaces and repositories. Confirm the account before proceeding.

  3. Review and authorize Relane

Review the permissions Bitbucket presents and follow any organization approval requirements. Use the existing Relane application flow; you do not need to create your own application to connect.

  4. Return to the console

After successful authorization, return to Repositories in the original Relane workspace. Reopen Connect repository if needed and check the connected Bitbucket account name.

For routine scans, ensure the account can read the intended repositories; do not grant repository administrator access just to troubleshoot an import. The authorization screen is the source of truth for the application grant. Selecting repositories in Relane controls imports, not the breadth of that Bitbucket grant.

Import repositories from BitbucketPermalink to Import repositories from Bitbucket

  1. Open See repositories

Choose it beside the connected Bitbucket account. Relane discovers that account's accessible Bitbucket workspaces and lists their repositories.

  2. Match the full name

Check the Bitbucket workspace and repository name rather than relying on the repository name alone. Review the default branch and any Private or Archived label shown.

  3. Choose Add

Add each repository you want to work with in this Relane workspace. Wait for Added; repositories already imported show that label without needing another import.

  4. Start your scan

Open Start a scan and select the imported repository. Review Branch or ref before choosing Start scan. Connecting or adding the repository does not start the scan for you.

Recover access and retry importsPermalink to Recover access and retry imports

  • A Bitbucket workspace or repository is missing: check that the connected Bitbucket account has access and can read that repository in Bitbucket. Relane organization membership does not grant Bitbucket membership. After correcting access, close and reopen See repositories.
  • The account is wrong: begin Add another, sign in to the intended Bitbucket account, and authorize it. Check the account name on return before adding repositories.
  • Authorization was canceled or the link expired: start a fresh connection from Repositories in the intended Relane workspace. Reusing the old return link will not renew authorization.
  • Needs attention describes expired access: reopen See repositories to let Relane attempt a refresh. If that fails or access was revoked, restore permissions in Bitbucket and authorize again with Connect or Add another.
  • After reauthorization, repositories still need access: open See repositories on the new connection and Add them in the same Relane workspace to restore their connection without losing repository history.
  • The repository list or Add action fails: retry the list, read any account or row-level message, and check for an existing imported repository before retrying. If access looks correct but the failure persists, contact Relane support.
