Connecting GitLab Cloud

Connect the GitLab Cloud account whose project memberships include the repositories you want to scan. A GitLab project contains the repository; Relane lists it using its namespace and project name so you can distinguish similarly named projects.

Choose the destination Relane workspace before starting. GitLab group membership determines what your GitLab account can access; membership in a Relane organization determines where you can work in the console. One does not grant the other.

   Open the connection options

   Go to Repositories. Choose Connect repository if needed, then Connect beside GitLab under Where your code lives. If an account is already connected, use Add another.

   Confirm your GitLab identity

   Sign in to GitLab in the browser with the account that can read the intended projects. Check the account before approving, especially if you use more than one GitLab identity.

   Review and authorize Relane

   Read GitLab's permission screen and complete any approval required by your organization. The requested grant can extend beyond read-only access; importing only selected projects later does not narrow that grant.

   Return to Repositories

   After successful authorization, Relane returns you to the original workspace. Reopen Connect repository if needed and check the connected GitLab account name before importing.

   Choose See repositories

   Open it beside the GitLab account you just authorized. Relane asks GitLab for projects associated with that account's memberships.

   Check the project identity

   Match the full namespace and project name. Review the default branch and any Private or Archived label shown in the list.

   Add the repositories you want

   Choose Add on each intended project and wait for Added. Already imported repositories show Added rather than another Add button.

   Review and scan

   Find the imported repository in Repositories, then open Start a scan. Select it, review Branch or ref, and choose Start scan when it is eligible.

Recover missing projects or expired accessPermalink to Recover missing projects or expired access

• A project is missing: confirm the connected GitLab identity and its project or group membership. Verify that the same account can read the repository in GitLab, then close and reopen See repositories. If it remains missing, contact Relane support rather than granting broader administrative access.
• Authorization was declined or the return link is invalid: return to the intended Relane workspace and begin Connect again. Finish GitLab's browser authorization using the new link.
• The connection reports expiry: try See repositories again so Relane can attempt its automatic refresh. If refresh fails or permissions need renewal, restore access in GitLab and use Connect or Add another to authorize again.
• You authorized again: open See repositories on the new connection and Add the affected projects in the same Relane workspace. Their existing repository history is preserved.
• Add fails: read the message beside that project. Refresh for a project that moved or disappeared, restore access for a permission failure, and check Repositories if it is already connected.
